NOIRYORICAN (Down & Out Books) was noted as one of the 2020 Books of the Year (Anthologies/Short Stories) by Las Comadres and Friends National Latino Book Club in their premiere annual list. HOLLY HERNANDEZ AND THE DEATH OF DISCO (Piñata Books) was also lauded as one of the 2020 Books of the Year (Fiction – Young Adult) by the club.

Two other books with stories by me were included in the 2020 Books of the Year (Anthologies/Short Stories) category: Lockdown: Stories of Crime, Terror, and Hope During a Pandemic (Polis Books), edited by Nick Kolakowski and Steve Weddle, and Tiny Nightmares: Very Short Stories of Horror (Black Balloon Publishing), edited by Lincoln Michel and Nadxieli Nieto.

Earlier this month HOLLY HERNANDEZ AND THE DEATH OF DISCO was included on The Latinidad List of the Best Latinx Books of 2020. The ezine, published by Marcela Landres since 2003, was chosen as one of the 101 Best Web Sites for Writers by Writer’s Digest. In the ezine list, Landres noted of HOLLY: “If Elmore Leonard were Latino and wrote YA, he would have written this witty page-turner.”
